Election Regulations for the CEO of Waystone Germany
The aim of this competition is to determine the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Waystone Germany. To ensure fair competition, the trading accounts of all participants are provided by BlackRock. The funds are subject to the supervision of the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), and Deutsche Börse Group takes on the role of arbitrator.
Procedure of the preliminary round
Professional investment analysts from the global financial sector are eligible to participate in this competition. Waystone, Deutsche Börse Group, BlackRock and BaFin jointly supervise the competition.
Each participant will receive a starting capital of 10,000 euros, which BlackRock will provide in the form of a trading account with an initial balance of 10,000 euros. Within 30 days, participants trade in financial products such as stocks, futures, funds, foreign exchange and cryptocurrencies. The 50 participants with the highest return qualify for the next round.

Preliminary round – Qualification
The 50 participants with the highest return in the preliminary round qualify for the next round. The next round will be overseen by Waystone, Deutsche Börse Group, BlackRock and BaFin. BlackRock is providing the top 50 new trading accounts with a balance of 1 million euros each. BaFin monitors these accounts to ensure fair competitive conditions.
Qualifying Period: March 16, 2025 – May 15, 2025
Popularity rating: All German citizens can vote daily for the participants via an official online platform. Everyone has one vote per day. Every Friday at 8:00 p.m. (Berlin time) the popularity rating is published. The participants with the lowest values are eliminated.
Yield evaluation: Every Friday at 20:00 (Berlin time) the returns are calculated. The participants with the lowest returns are eliminated. The return is calculated as a percentage change in the account balance between the beginning of the week and the end of the week.

Abstract: The entire proceeds of the event will be donated to the German Cancer Aid (DKH).
The 30 best participants (no double entries) in the popularity and return on investment rankings will advance to the semi-finals. The semi-finals will be jointly monitored by Waystone, Deutsche Börse Group, BlackRock and BaFin. BlackRock is providing the semi-finalists with new trading accounts with a balance of €2 million each.
Semi-finals:
16 May 2025 – 15 June 2025
Popularity: All German citizens can vote for the participating candidates on a daily basis, because it is about filling the position of CEO of Waystone Germany. The 20 participants with the lowest values in the popularity and return rating are eliminated.
Yield valuation: Returns are assessed weekly. Participants with the lowest returns are eliminated.
Popularity rating: The ten most popular participants and the ten participants with the highest return will advance to the final.

The ten most popular participants in the semi-finals will advance to the final. The final will be jointly supervised by Waystone, Deutsche Börse Group, BlackRock and BaFin. BlackRock is providing the finalists with new trading accounts with a balance of 2 million euros each. These trading accounts are monitored by BaFin to ensure fair conditions.
Final – Decision
To become CEO of Waystone's German subsidiary, popularity in Germany is crucial. Since Waystone attaches great importance to customer proximity, popularity decides on victory in the final. The candidate with the highest popularity will become CEO of Waystone's German subsidiary. The other participants will be given other positions according to their wishes.
